Our initiatives focusses on the socio-economic needs of empoveridged communities as well as the conservation of natural rescouces.

Being passionate about our people and environment, the members of the H.O.P.E Foundation (Helping Our People and Environment) aspire to bring hope in dealing with South Africa’s social and environmental challenges.

In 2007, Jan Bester, owner of True South Travel founded the H.O.P.E Foundation which currently focusses on:

SOCIO ECONOMIC PROJECTS Current projects and initiatives undertaken by the H.O.P.E Foundation includes the social and economical upliftment of previously disadvantaged individuals in the Cango Valley (Oudtshoorn) and Karatara (Knysna) Communities.

CONSERVATION PROJECTS The “Ou Tol” conservation project focusses on the conservation of the Swartberg Mountain Reserve environmental education of users of the Swartberg Pass.
